What is Passkey?

A passkey is a modern, password-free way to sign in to apps and websites. Instead of typing a password, you unlock your device using your fingerprint, face scan, or PIN. This method uses cryptographic keys, one stored on your device and the other with the service you're accessing to verify your identity securely.

Passkeys are designed to be easier, faster, and safer than traditional passwords, helping you avoid the risks of weak passwords, phishing, and credential reuse.

How ScopeX Uses Passkeys?

At ScopeX, we use passkeys to secure your wallet and authorization processes.

Here’s how:

  • When you create your wallet, a unique passkey is created and stored on your device.

  • To approve transfers or activate your wallet, the system requires you to authenticate via your passkey (via biometric, PIN, or other supported method) to ensure it is you.

  • Since the passkey is bound to your device, only your authenticated device can authorize transactions

This method guarantees that only the authorized device and user can access the wallet and approve transactions.
